Tumbbad, released in 2018, is a period horror film that is set and directed by Rahi Anil Barve. It is said to be one of the best horror movies in Indian cinema. Tumbbad Movie Set in Tumbbad in the 1920s, the story revolves around three generations of a family who face the consequences when they build a temple for the first-born of a goddess, named Hastar, who is not to be worshiped. 1.Most of the film’s filming locations are real and were shot in real towns and landscapes with no modern infringement, no towers or structures. The artistic design of this film is simply brilliant.

2.The film was released at the Venice International Film Festival in 2018 and took around 6 years, from filming to post-production, to complete.

3.Jesper Kyd, the film’s Danish sound designer, composed the soundtrack for Tumbbad, known for composing soundtracks for the Assassin’s Creed franchise, among other video games.

4.The inhabitants of the royal village of Tumbbad believe that a primordial treasure is hidden underground in an important area of the village. And the filmmakers decided to shoot the film in exactly the same location.

5.Another special thing about this movie is its lighting. The movie was shot in natural light; 50 lanterns and lamps were used for various scenes to avoid modern lighting techniques as it was a period film.

6.This movie town is about six and a half hours from Mumbai and about 100 km from the Koyna Wildlife Sanctuary.

7.The role of the creepy grandmother at the beginning of the film was played by Mohammad Samad, who also rehearsed the role of Sohum’s son later in the story.
