Netflix’s upcoming web series, “A Suitable Boy,” is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by author Vikram Seth. A Right Boy is set to launch on Netflix on October 23.
Directed by Mira Nair, A Suitable Boy is set in India in 1951 and follows the coming of age of a college student, Lata, played by Tanya Maniktala.
the web series is about the life of four families in a new country and the change of social values. Lata (Tanya Maniktala), 19, has only one wish: to choose her own husband. Her mother Rupa (Mahira Kakkar), however, is determined to find her a “suitable boy”.
A Suitable Boy also stars Ram Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Vijay Varma, Vijay Raaz, Shahana Goswami, Ranvir Shorey, Rasika Dugal, Randeep Hooda, Shubham Saraf, Mikhail Sen, Danesh Razvi, Mahira Kakkar, Namit Das, Manoj Pahwa, Aamir Bashir, and Vivaan Shah in pivotal roles.
Directed by Mira Nair and written by Andrew Davies, A Suitable Boy premiered on the BBC in July.
A Suitable Boy will stream on October 23 on Netflix.
