‘Aashram: Chapter 2’ constantly works on music that relies too much on the actors for their intelligence in acting. It seems Prakash Jha is unsure about the cast or script.
Aashram Chapter 2 Pammi (Aaditi Pohankar), a wrestler, whose belief compels his entire family to submit to Baba, is now in the net of a lustful leader. Bobby Deol is reprising his role as the soft-spoken leader of a sect superficially focused on lifting the oppressed, while secretly running the drug business. With Nirala’s growing popularity, the con artist’s hubris was reflected in his revamped designer clothes, lust-concealed make-up, corruption, and his growing political affairs. The storyline slowly improved after the sixth episode and things started to happen. In the ninth episode, the show runs at full speed.
The web series begins with a complex collage of lower caste fights, political and political rivalries between parties, police investigations, MNC interests, and the mysterious Babaji who is surrounded by equally mysterious henchmen and ashrams. But the main story focuses on a young Dalit girl, a wrestler, who gets a raw deal due to a lower caste background and wants to join the ashram.
