Justin Townes Earle, the singer-songwriter known for his blend of roots music from yesteryear and modern America, has died at age 38.
News of his death has been confirmed on his official Instagram account. The post was captioned as, “It is with tremendous sadness that we inform you of the passing of our son, husband, father, and friend Justin. So many of you have relied on his music and lyrics over the years and we hope that his music will continue to guide you on your journeys. You will be missed dearly, Justin.”

At the 2009 American Honors & Awards, he was honored as Emerging Actor of the Year. In 2011, her song “Harlem River Blues” was honored as Song of the Year.
Justin Townes Earle was born on January 4, 1982, and he was the son of country rocker Steve Earle. According to information published in Rolling Stones, Justin was named after his father’s friend, songwriter Townes Van Zandt.
He released his first EP, “Yuma”, in 2007, and debuted with his first full album The Good Life in 2008. His last album was The Saint of Lost Causes, released in 2019.
