Actor Akshay Kumar’s upcoming movie Prithviraj is currently the talk of the town. The movie is set to release on June 3. The movie has been renamed with just a few days left before the screening.
Prithviraj Cinema has been renamed ‘Samrat Prithviraj’. Producer Yashraj Films has issued a press release in this regard. The last few days have been full of controversy over the title of the movie. The Karni Sena had demanded that the name of the movie should be Samrat Prithviraj so that he should be honored in view of the career of Samraj Prithviraj Chauhan. With this in mind, the producers decided to change the name of the movie.
Yashraj Films said in a circular, “We are thankful for pointing out the mistake made in the title of the movie. We did not want to hurt anyone’s respect and feelings through Prithviraj’s movie. We also have no intention of disrespecting the late great emperor Prithviraj. Through cinema, we aim to showcase the bravery, deeds, and contribution of Emperor Prithviraj in the history of the country.
The press release further said, ‘Shri Rajput Karni Sena and his members had objected to the title of Prithviraj Cinema. We talked to them in peace. They made us understand our mistake. We showed them the whole movie. He has no objections to the movie. We are changing the name of the movie ‘Prithviraj’ to ‘Samrat Prithviraj’. We are also thankful to the Karni Sena for listening to us. ‘
