Derry Girls season 3: Channel 4 has confirmed that Derry Girls season 3 Release date

Channel 4 has confirmed that Derry Girls season 3 will begin airing from Tuesday 12th April, reuniting us with the whole gang for the third and final time.

The highly-anticipated final season has long been in the works, with delays due to the pandemic.

Erin, Clare, Orla, Michelle and the ‘wee English fella’ James will all return in the 1990s-set Northern Irish comedy, following a Derry Girls season 3 trailer showing the girls and James all enjoying their final school days.

The short clip, posted on Channel 4’s Twitter, is pure chaos, with the girls (and Dylan Llewellyn’s James) in a video store and Jamie-Lee O’Donnell’s Michelle glancing at the cover of Braveheart and proclaiming Mel Gibson as a drag queen. . The girls are then approached by Dennis (Paul Mallon), the corner store owner who now apparently works at the video store, and after a brief confrontation they are going to leave when they run into Sister Michael ( Siobhán McSweeney) sporting a leg injury (which was written into the show to fit McSweeney’s real-life injury, most likely), to which she says “they should see the other guy.”

Derry Girls series 3 begins on April 12 at 9.15 pm on Channel 4 and All4. Series 1 and 2 are available to stream now on the service.
