Emmys 2020: Zendaya Becomes Youngest Emmy Winner for 'Lead Actress in Drama Category’

The 24-year-old actor has become the youngest Emmy winner and was named Best Leading Actress in a Drama Series. She has created a History by becoming the youngest actress to win the award. Zendaya won the award for her portrayal of Rue Bennett on the HBO drama series Euphoria.

The awards ceremony, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles, saw the winners accept their awards virtually. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was decided that the ceremony will take place virtually from the homes of actors across the United States.

The actor stars in the HBO series Euphoria, a stylized and boundless drama about the life of Rue, a high school girl trying to recover from drug addiction. Production was just days from the start of filming for season 2 in March, when Hollywood shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.
