The series is based on the life of social worker Gauri Sawant. Sushmita’s work in this regard is being highly appreciated. Although Sushmita is landing different and daring roles thanks to the OTT platform, she has been appearing on the big screen for a while as well.
Sushmita has worked with all the top actors of Bollywood. Recently, she has commented on her 2004 film ‘Main Hoon Na’. Sushmita had a small role in the film, but Sushmita has opened up about the impact the role had on the audience and how it changed her.
Talking to ‘Humans of Bombay’, Sushmita said, “After seeing the final cut of the film, Farah Khan called me and apologized to me. Farah said that although the film has Shah Rukh, Amrita, and Zayed in lead roles, your role has cast a different spell on the audience. I’m sorry you don’t have much screen time in the film.” Sushmita then told Farah that there was an agreement between them and they had acted accordingly.
In ‘Main Hoon Na’, Sushmita Sen played the role of a professor named ‘Chandni’. Seeing the appreciation of Sushmita by the audience, the posters of the film in Mumbai were changed overnight and replaced with posters of Shahrukh and Sushmita.
