Oscar-winning actor Joaquin Phoenix and his fiancee, actress Rooney Mara, reportedly welcomed their first child together, a baby boy last month.
The most interesting part is that the Joker actor has named his son after his late brother River Phoenix. river had worked on movies like Stand by Me, Running on Empty. He died in 1993, at the age of 23. He took his last breath due to a drug overdose. River died at the peak of his career and had already delivered memorable roles in films such as Stand By Me, Indiana Jones, and others.
The news was confirmed by Gunda director Victor Kossakovsky at the 2020 Zurich Film Festival screening of his film, of which Joaquin is the executive producer.
According to Just Jared, Victor revealed during the question and answer session, “By the way, he just had a baby. His name was … a beautiful son named River, so he can’t promote him now.”In an interview with Anderson Cooper for 60 minutes, Joaquin Phoenix spoke about River Phoenix and opened up about the late actor’s legacy.
The recent Joker movie. Starring Joaquin in the title role, the film follows the story of a mentally challenged comedian Arthur Fleck, who is ignored and mistreated by society. The Joker movie is directed by Todd Phillips, Joaquin won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in the movie.
