John Wick franchise is one of the most successful action sagas in cinema, with Keanu Reeves taking on the role of the protagonist. However, in John Wick 4, John and Winston, played by Ian McShane, will be allies again. But what is the reason for the partnership? We explain why.
“John Wick (Keanu Reeves) faces his deadliest adversaries yet in the next fourth installment of the series,” reads the synopsis.
“With the price on his head ever-increasing, Wick takes his fight against the High Table globally as he seeks out the most powerful players in the underworld, from New York to Paris, Osaka to Berlin,” concludes the synopsis.
The feature film features stars Keanu Reeves, Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Laurence Fishburne, among others.
It’s quite a surprise to see Winston and John team up again in the fourth film, which hints that they’re both facing a major threat (via ScreenRant ).
John was shot by Winston at the end of John Wick 3, and it’s unclear if Wick was betrayed by his former ally, or if it was a character ploy to keep up appearances. John Wick 4 should explain the reason for the shooting, giving the character a new chance to finally take down the High Dome.
Keanu Reeves returns to the role in John Wick 4, which opens on March 23, 2023.
