More than 2.27,000 Indians are sitting tight in line for the family-sponsored green card or permanent legal residence, as indicated by the most recent official figures. Presently, there are around 4,000,000 people hanging tight for green cards sponsored by the family.

The biggest number of 1.5 million holding up lists starts from the neighboring southern Mexico of America, followed by a far off India with 227,000 and China with just about 180,000.

Most of those on the family-sponsored Green Card holding up the list are brothers of US residents. Under current law, US residents can support their families and family members of blood for green cards or perpetual lawful residence.

The popularity based resistance passionately restricts the nullification of the family-sponsored immigration framework.

Notwithstanding the 4,000,000 family-sponsored Green Card applicants, another 827,000, a significant number of whom are from India, are anticipating permanent legitimate citizens.

As per DHS, most Indians sitting tight in line for family-based green cards are relatives of US citizens. There are more than 181,000. Pursued by 42,000 wedded children of US citizens and more than 2,500 mates and minor children of permanent citizens.
