Netflix announced its first Tamil-language film on Thursday, Paava Kadhaigal. Directed by Gautham Menon, Sudha Kongara, Vetri Maaran, and Vignesh Shivan, Paava Kadhaigal explores how love, pride, and honor influence complex relationships through four intricate stories.
The first anthology film is produced by Ronnie Screwvala’s RSVP Movies and Ashi dua Sara’s Flying Unicorn Entertainment. The anthology features an ensemble cast, including Anjali, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Hari, Kalidas Jayaram, Kalki Koechlin, Padam Kumar, Prakash Raj, Sai Pallavi, Shantanu Bhagyaraj, and Simran, among others.

Paava Kadhaigal is not the first Netflix India anthology film. Previously, Bollywood directors Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee, and Karan Johar had collaborated for the Netflix films Lust Stories (2018) and Ghost Stories (2020).
