Shadow and Bone are based on novels written by author Leigh Bardugo in her fantasy world, the “Grishaverse.” It follows the story of the Shadow and Bone trilogy with the addition of some characters from the Six of Crows duology, which Bardugo wrote separately. It is a world where magic users named Grisha can manipulate certain natural forces or elements, and the rich fictional cultures are loosely based in Russia and Eastern Europe.

Netflix confirmed Season 2 of Shadow and Bone after the premiere of Season 1. Netflix has not yet set a release date for Season 2 of Shadow and Bone. On July 7, Netflix released a video announcement that saw the cast of Shadow and Bone share that Season 2 was in the works.

News of the Shadow and Bone season 2 renewal broke on Netflix Geeked Week, where the cast themselves announced the new season. This followed a March 2021 report from What’s on Netflix claiming that Shadow and Bone season 2 was already internally approved on Netflix, but that the streamer had yet to announce it.

Shadow And Bone Season 2 Plot
Netflix hasn’t revealed the official synopsis yet, but we have a pretty good idea of what to expect in the new season.
Season 2 will pick up where the first installment left off. The first season cites the story of an orphan cartographer who goes by the name of Alina Starkov. Alina discovers her powers as Grisha, a magical builder with power like no one else, the power to create light.
