Shakeela’s trailer is out. Directed by Indrajit Lankesh, the movie trailer begins with the disappearance of popular star Silk Smitha. The film is a biopic of adult star Shakeela, who made a name for herself in the South Indian film industry in the 1990s.
Shakila also stars as Pankaj Tripathi in the title role and star in the movie. Richa Chadha in the lead role then shows the dramatic story of Shakela and her childhood as she became one of the most desirable women on screen. Then comes the story of Shakila, who rose to fame after becoming a huge star in Malayalam films.

Director Indrajit Lankesh said in a statement, “Shakeela is truly a labor of love and commitment to show Shakeela’s story is iconic in so many ways. Her story is almost folklore today, but the truth is that so much happened to her while she soared to success from nothing and then came back to nothing again. I’m happy that our producers are releasing the film so widely, gives me the confidence to know that it’s a film that will appeal to the larger masses. To release in so many languages was important because that was the power of Shakeela.”
The film is produced by Sammy Nanwani and will be released in theaters on December 25, 2020. Shakeela will hit theaters on December 25, 2020.
