South film director SS Rajamouli’s song ‘Natu Natu’ from the film ‘RRR’ won the Oscar today. The song won an Oscar in the Best Original Song category. This time, while talking about ‘Natu Natu’, host Jimmy Kimmel said that RRR is a Bollywood film. In January, the song ‘Natu Natu’ won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song.
After talking to the media, it was said that ‘RRR’ is not a Bollywood film, but now the host Jimmy Kimmel has mentioned this film as a Bollywood film.
What did Rajamouli say?
“RRR is not a Bollywood film, it is a Telugu film from the southern part of India which is our homeland. I use songs in the film to carry the story forward, I don’t like to stop in the middle of the film and enjoy the song and dance. “You can call yourself a successful filmmaker only if people don’t remember how they spent 3 hours when the film is over,” said Rajamouli.
The netizens were furious
“Why are they referring to RRR as a ‘Bollywood film’ when it is a Tollywood film? Western countries unfortunately lack representation. The Academy should be ashamed of you,” tweeted a user.
This film is not Bollywood but South. It is of Telugu origin. So many people have expressed their displeasure as the host Jimmy called it a Bollywood movie.
