Two accused who shot dead famous Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewal in broad daylight with 30 bullets have died in an encounter near Amritsar. Police officials said that Jagrup Singh Rupa and Manpreet Singh alias Mannu Kusa were killed in this encounter. The anti-gangster task force of the Punjab police department tried to nab two gangsters who were suspected in the murder case of Singer Moosewala. They tried to run away and hid in an area. The police surrounded the area and opened fire. The police started firing back
The police appealed to the locals not to come out and stay in their homes. Vehicles were stopped on that route. Police said that three policemen were seriously injured in this encounter and they were admitted to a hospital in Amritsar. It seems that a journalist was also injured.

The encounter took place in Bhakna Kalan village near the Attari border. The police received intelligence that the assailants were hiding in a bungalow in the village. Police took action accordingly. Police surrounded this bungalow from all sides. As the area where the encounter took place is close to the India-Pakistan border, it was also predicted that the assailants might have fled to Pakistan. Police have seized AK-47, pistol and other materials from the accused.
3 policemen have been injured in this encounter. Besides, a cameraman was also shot. All are in stable condition. The two suspected attackers have been identified as Jagrup Ropa and Manpreet Kusa. One of these attackers first fired at Musewala with an AK-47
According to Punjab Police, 30 bullets were fired at Sidhu Musewala. He died before being admitted to the hospital. The police informed that N-94 rifle bullets were recovered from the spot.
