Singer SP Balasubrahmanyam has tested negative for the novel coronavirus. His son, SP Charan, in a statement, confirmed the same and added that his father is stable.
His son, SP Charan released a statement today (August 24), which said “Thanks for your continuous support and prayers for my father. My father is fine and stable and his Corona test has become negative. Will keep you posted about the updates (sic).”
The veteran singer was admitted to MGM Healthcare in Chennai with mild symptoms of COVID-19 on August 5. He had mild symptoms of coronavirus, but his condition later deteriorated.
From celebrities to the general public, everyone gathered and prayed Thursday for the veteran singer’s speedy recovery.
The 74-year-old singer has more than 40,000 songs to his name in more than 16 Indian languages. He has been honored with Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, and several national awards.
