Supreme Court has ordered CBI investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case

the Supreme Court rejected actor Rhea Chakraborty’s request to transfer the investigation from Patna to Mumbai in the death case of Sushant Singh Rajput.

Judge Hrishikesh Roy delivered the verdict on Thursday. The apex court has asked the Mumbai police to hand over all the evidence collected so far in the case to CBI. Government of Maharashtra to assist CBI in the investigation as this is a Court ordered CBI investigation.

In his petition, Chakraborty said that Bihar police have no jurisdiction in the case and that the actor’s death was being used for political gain ahead of elections in the state. The increased media attention and sensationalization of the case is another reason why Chakraborty has sought to transfer the case to Mumbai.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) also registered a case against Chakraborty and three members of his family.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s family, fans, and his Bollywood colleagues have been campaigning for a CBI investigation into his death since last month.

On the basis of the allegation by Rajput’s father, KK Singh, that Rhea Chakraborty was responsible for complicity in her son’s suicide, the Patna police registered an FIR on July 25.
