Sushant Singh Rajput death case: centre accepts Bihar govt's request for CBI probe

The Center has accepted the Bihar government’s request for an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) into the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The Supreme Court was informed Wednesday. In appearing before the Supreme Court, Attorney General Tushar Mehta said the Center has approved a CBI investigation into the matter.

Sushant’s father, KK Singh, will present his responses within three days in a plea from actress Rhea Chakraborty seeking the transfer of an FIR, accusing her of inciting Sushant’s suicide, from Patna to Mumbai.

Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, KK Singh, had filed a police complaint against Chakraborty in Patna, accusing her of inciting his son’s alleged suicide in June.

Vikas Singh, the lawyer representing Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, claimed that the Maharashtra police are destroying evidence in the case.

Mumbai police are also investigating the case. Amid mounting pressure for a CBI investigation into the case, the Maharashtra government had said the case will not be transferred to CBI as the Mumbai Police is doing its duty.

On July 25, Sushant’s father presented a flight information zone at Rajiv Nagar police station in Patna against Riya and six others, including her family members, accusing them of inciting the actor’s suicide.
