The death of Annie Wersching, aged 45, shocked Hollywood this Sunday (29). The actress, who starred in series like 24 Hours and The Vampire Diaries, is also known for her work on the video game The Last of Us.
In a statement on Twitter, The Last of Us co-creator Neil Druckmann mourned Wersching’s death from cancer:
“I have just learned that my dear friend, Annie Wersching, has passed away. We just lost a beautiful artist and human being. My heart is in pieces. My thoughts are with their loved ones,” wrote Druckmann.
Annie Wersching lent her voice to the character Tess in The Last of Us.
The Last of Us recently became an HBO TV series. Only two episodes aired and the series has already secured its 2nd season.
“A plot that borders on human extinction. Twenty years after the fall of civilization, Joel is hired to get Ellie out of a dangerous quarantine zone,” reads the official synopsis for The Last of Us .
The Last of Us airs on HBO and the HBO Max platform.
