Ismael Cruz Córdova said that Arondir will face internal conflict for much of the second season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. During the first season, influenced by his love for Bronwyn ( Nazanin Boniadi ), Arondir defended the humans of Southland against the army of Orcs.
In the upcoming season, Arondir will have to deal with the decision to remain with his beloved or follow his elven heritage.
In an interview with TV Line, Córdova said that in the upcoming season of Rings of Power, his character will have to learn to deal not only with human customs but also how to be a father and boyfriend.
“We’re always talking about elf-human relationships and how humans are seen as babies in elven eyes, but I think it’s the other way around with him stepping into a more human dynamic. He’s a baby in terms of knowing how to be domestic and how to be a parent or a boyfriend.”
“That’s the essence of this guy’s conflict. At the end of the day, he is an eternal being. He will survive the humans in one way or another. He chose to go with the humans now, but if he is called, will he choose his family or his people?”
Now that part of the Southlands was destroyed in the creation of Mordor, Arondir will go with the humans to Pelargir, an ancient colony of Númenor where they can start a new life.
