Aamir Khan’s ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ are not taking the name of the ending. With this film, Aamir returns to the big screen after almost four years. The remake of the Hollywood movie ‘Forrest Gump’, ‘Laal Singh Chaddha‘, has made headlines since it was announced. There was enthusiasm to see it among the fans. The creators expected it to be a big hit. But as soon as it was released, this movie piled up at the box office in such a way that everyone’s wind blew away.
Why Lal Singh Chaddha flopped?
The release of ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ has been able to do business of just Rs 50 crore (Laal Singh Chaddha’s box office take) in seven days. If you’ve seen the history of Aamir Khan’s movies, his movie used to win big on the first day of its release. But what happened to ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ who made this film with many aspirations, fell into disrepair? Now actor R Madhavan has spoken about this.
On Wednesday, Madhavan released the sneak peek of his movie ‘Dhokha – Round the Corner’ in Mumbai. In such a situation, he was asked about the poor performance of high priced Hindi movies including ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’. Madhavan said in his response: ‘If we had known (why Laal Singh Chaddha failed), we would all have been making successful movies. No one starts out thinking we’re making the wrong movie. The intent and hard work behind every actor’s film is the same. So all the great movies that have been released…the intention behind them was to make a good movie and people like it.’
Big budget movies like ‘Shamshera‘ and ‘Prithviraj’ have been released on the big screen in 2022. Bollywood had high hopes from both of them but both proved to be flops. On the other hand, ‘RRR’, ‘KGF Chapter 2’, ‘Vikram’ and ‘Vikrant Rona’ performed well. The Hindi version of RRR and KGF 2 had earned a lot of money.
