World Suicide Prevention Day, commemorated on September 10, aims to raise awareness of suicide prevention globally. The day is celebrated for raising awareness about the topic of suicide and talking about ways to prevent it. In 2013, the International Association for Suicide Prevention (IASP) in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) hosted the first World Suicide Prevention Day.
